Company Overview: We are a dynamic and rapidly growing AI powered private credit fund specializing in direct lending to small entrepreneurial owned businesses looking for loans of $1.0 million to $5.0 million. We are seeking a professional with 3-5 years of experience to join and assist with the rapid growth of the business.
Position Summary: Hum is seeking an Private Credit Operations Analyst for our Hum Financial team. Hum Financial screens, underwrites and manages portfolios of credit investments on behalf of third-party asset allocators. The role includes the primary functions and responsibilities listed below and requires the Analyst to interact with various other departments across the firm including accounting, finance, product, and our Markets and origination teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the investment team, underlying customers, and internal teams (such as accounting) to create and maintain operating and P&I schedules for underlying loans.
- Manage monthly and ad hoc reporting responsibilities
- Own bank account operations and maintenance and facilitate fund flows
- Develop and produce periodic and ad hoc reports and presentations for both internal and external target audiences.
- Utilize technology tools including our operations software platform, Salesforce and ICM (our proprietary platform)
- Work with accounting to validate NAV and P&L items.
- Liaise with accounting and finance to facilitate daily business operations; such as customer invoicing, and statementing.
- Provide customer support with onboarding and connectivity.
Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience in a middle office or back office of a private credit investing or lending business operations, or a bank operations or related middle office or back office experience
- Experience working with third party managed funds and vehicles
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Advanced MS Excel modeling skills (v-lookup, macros, and pivot tables) additive, PowerPoint a plus
- Experience with operational software platform management a plus
- Integrity and trustworthiness
- Ability to work independently; a driven self-starter
- A proven track record of academic and professional success & familiarity and interest in credit investing and private capital markets
- Understanding of and ability to create loan P&I (principal and interest) schedules
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a degree in finance, accounting, or economics preferred
- Credit / Private Capital Markets backgrounds are strongly preferred
- Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Creative problem solver; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative and able to effectively communicate within a lean investment team
- Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced team-oriented work environment
