Senior Account Executive (Payer Sales)

About the Role


As a Senior Account Executive for Health Plans, you will be responsible for driving new business and expanding relationships within the payer market—specifically Medicare Advantage and Medicaid health plans. You’ll own the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting through close, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless handoffs and long-term client success. Your work directly supports SafeRide Health’s mission to remove transportation as a barrier to care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline targeting enterprise healthcare payers
  • Identify, qualify, and close net new business opportunities to meet and exceed quota
  • Represent SafeRide Health at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
  • Cultivate senior-level relationships with Managed Care Organizations and payer stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the RFP Management team to shape sales messaging and contribute to solution design and proposals
  • Work closely with Account Management to identify growth opportunities within existing client accounts and ensure smooth implementation post-sale
  • Drive continuous improvement of sales processes, including CRM management and sales documentation
  • Partner with marketing, product, network, and operations to ensure alignment and consistency in go-to-market strategy

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Proven experience selling into Health Plans or Payers
  • Deep understanding of Medicare and Medicaid managed care programs
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized with experience using structured sales processes
  • Advanced Excel skills for sales analysis and forecasting
  • CRM proficiency (HubSpot preferred)
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years in Sales, Account Management, or Management Consulting
  • 2+ years selling directly to healthcare payers
  • Experience in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) a plus
