As our Director of Core Systems, you’ll own the architecture and evolution of Supio’s backend platform—powering every product, API, and integration that drives our business. You’ll lead multiple teams across data, infrastructure, and backend services, setting the technical vision for a highly scalable, performant, and secure system. You’ll work side-by-side with product and AI research leaders to bring advanced legal intelligence to life.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and scale engineering teams responsible for Supio’s core platform: APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and application infrastructure.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for performance, scalability, reliability, and developer experience.
- Architect distributed systems that support AI-powered legal applications and data-intensive workflows.
- Partner with AI research and product teams to bring machine learning capabilities to production environments.
- Establish best practices for system observability, data governance, and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Mentor and grow engineering leaders, building a culture of technical excellence, speed, and accountability.
- Own delivery and reliability for the backbone of Supio’s platform, ensuring our systems scale with customer demand.
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading high-impact backend or infrastructure teams at scale.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, data architecture, and API design.
- Ability to balance architectural rigor with fast-paced delivery in a startup environment.
- Strong track record of technical leadership, including mentoring senior engineers and managers.
- Skilled communicator who can connect engineering strategy to business outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management or director-level leadership.
- Deep knowledge of Node.js, Python, TypeScript, and Postgres in AWS cloud environments.
- Experience designing and scaling large-scale SaaS or platform architectures.
- Demonstrated success building infrastructure for AI, data, or developer platforms.
