About the Role

Voiceops is looking for a Backend Product Engineer to build the core infrastructure that powers our AI reasoning systems. Your work will operate behind the scenes, enabling models to run, evaluate, self-correct, and integrate with the rest of the enterprise data ecosystem.

You will design and evolve the backend systems that power our model orchestration, data flows, evaluation pipelines, and the services that transform raw conversation data into structured intelligence. Your work will directly determine our speed, reliability, and ability to support larger and more complex customers as we grow.

This role is deeply technical. You will own major pieces of the backend stack, building the services that power both our user-facing product and the AI systems behind it.

What You Will Build

Model Orchestration Platform. The services that schedule, run, and evaluate models in parallel while balancing cost, speed, and reliability.

Inference and Evaluation Pipelines. Systems that ingest data, run models at scale, and score outputs with accuracy, consistency, and auditability.

Data Infrastructure. Clean, resilient abstractions for processing conversation data from telephony, CRM, SMS, Slack, and other sources into a unified schema that downstream systems can trust.

Integration and Delivery Systems. Services that push structured data into CRM systems, warehouses, customer tools, and external agents that depend on Voiceops as their source of truth.

Internal Platform Tooling. APIs, ingestion layers, and developer tools that make it simple for internal teams and customers to interact with our AI systems.

About You

Technical Requirements

Real Backend Experience.
You have 3+ years building production backend systems in NodeJS and TypeScript. You know how to design reliable services and ship code that runs in production on day one.

AWS Serverless Expertise.
You have hands-on experience with Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, SES, Aurora RDS, and S3. You are comfortable with CloudWatch and X-Ray for performance and reliability work. You understand AWS security fundamentals.

Data and Storage.
You know how to design relational schemas, optimize queries, tune performance, and build systems that stay fast under load.

Containerization and Deployment.
You are fluent with Docker. Experience with Terraform is helpful but not required.

Strong Fundamentals.
You understand distributed systems basics, event driven architectures, and how to build robust APIs and services.

Testing and Reliability.
You value practical testing. Experience with Jest or Selenium is a plus but not required.

Product Mindset.
You care about solving the right problem, not just completing a ticket. You think about the user, the system, and the long-term impact of your decisions.

AI Curiosity.
Experience with LLMs or evaluation pipelines is a plus, not a requirement. Curiosity and a desire to learn matter more.

Compensation

• Salary: $150,000 – $190,000 USD

• Equity: Significant early-stage equity package (0.25% - 0.75%)
